Fishin' trip photos

While the fisherman were photogenic, the nature was very fun to.  The swallows had made their nests in the docks eaves.  All of them had babies in them, but I was only able to see the babies in one, I was really lucky to capture this photo.
The bullfrogs were very loud and I was able to catch this photo before he dove in.  This log he was sitting on was dipping back and forth, he looked like he was riding a carnival ride.

I'm not sure if these are Damsel flies or Dragon flies or even if there is a difference, but they were beautiful and were willing to sit still and let me take their photos.

Finally, there was this huge field of sunflowers, GORGEOUS!!!  I love how this photo turned out, the depth of field just really worked out well.

Fishin' with Greatpa!

We were able to get out yesterday and do some catch and release fishing with Greatpa.  The kids had such a great time and Sissy was the big fisherman of the day, catching 15+ fish.  I enjoyed wandering around and snapping photos of all the fisherman and nature.  Here are just a few photos of our very fun day.

We're so grateful to have these fun days with Greatpa, the kids are already planning the next trip.

Heat wave!

After several days of excessive heat warnings, the temps finally broke a bit and allowed us to get outside.  We headed over to wander the trails at the nature center, still a lil' hot for the zoo.

Sissy sighted this caterpillar and then nearby we found a whole bunch more, they look kind of like scrub brushes.  Sis really liked the orange strip down his back!

Everywhere we looked we saw Dragonflies, they were flitting all around the streams and trails.  I don't have a macro lens or really any lens, my camera is pretty much a super glorified point and shoot.  I am really working on the manual settings though, it's definitely a learning process.

The kids love playing in the stream and were daring each other to walk over this log without falling in.
Some made it!
 Others didn't!
But fun was definitely had by all!

It's over!

We served our last customers in the restaurant that we've been in for 15 years, we are moving and will be reopening in the fall. In the meantime I have to work at the other restaurant we own, I hope all my favorite customers come and see me!!!!

I love so many of our customers, it's really bittersweet that we're moving on, luckily we have very loyal friends(customers), so I'm sure we'll see them all in a few months.

4th of July fun!

I looked up and saw these planes.  Are they as close together as they seem??

Zoo fun!
