Butterfly Garden
I know the top and third are Monarchs, Koty said he was pretty sure that the second and fourth are both moths. I'm not sure how to tell the difference, but I've learned not to argue with nature boy.
For some reason, these two are my absolute faves. I'm not sure why, maybe the purple, maybe the blur; they just make me happy and really that is what a good photo is supposed to do--elicit emotion.

Bunch of fun pics! Part 1
Yes, I've lost my way again. I don't know what its wrong with me but I can't seem to focus on blogging or really anything right now, my mind is all over the place. I'm not giving up on my 365 Project, but I'm definitely struggling. I'm just gonna post a few pics and then grab the current day and run with it.

I may have to switch to just weekly postings, but I'm gonna do my level best to catch up and post daily from here on out. We'll see.

Ry at the zoo!
During the trip to the zoo all of the kids were especially photogenic. They were having such a great time and it showed on their faces.

We love our zoo!
We had a cool but sunny day yesterday, so we spent it at the zoo. Would you expect anything else out of my zoo loving kids! The first photo is one of my absolute faves. I had to make it black and white to take the reflections out as this momma was behind glass with her baby. It was such a sweet moment, she just kept stroking and kissing on her baby, it really reminded me of momma's everywhere who just can't get enough of that soft skin and sweet baby smell.
This little guy lives in the rhino exhibit or at least nearby. We see him every time we go, since the rhino was off exhibit for awhile, while they build the sky lift, he was out and about. Groundhog, maybe??

Project 365/102-103
More catch up photos. We spent the day at the zoo yesterday. I love the first one, if you look closely you'll see that Mr. Heron is sharing his log with a ton of turtles.

These trees are all over the zoo. Locust, maybe? They always make me think of a crown of thorns.
These are growing out back at the restaurant. If I have to, I'm not above taking my pics at work.

Project 365/48
If you follow me at all, you know that our family has a love affair with the outdoors. We go to the zoo and our local nature centers often....I mean a LOT! We love every second of it and will go in any type of weather. Today was one of those rare 70 degree days, that gives you a taste of Spring, right before it rips the carpet out from under you. We desperately needed to get some sun, I especially needed some fresh air.

Project 365/38-39
We decided to head out to the zoo yesterday. Yes, I know it's winter, my kids don't care. They had heard that our new polar bear, Nikita, was being very active and they had to go see for themselves. I can count on one hand the number of people, other than us, that we saw wandering around. Oh well, we had fun and I got some great pics.
We wandered around a lot of the indoor places, Discovery Barn, Tropics and of course the Polar Bear overlook. The animals were real active and interacted with the kids, it's hard to see but the monkey was being a mimic and 'playing' with Sissy.
I'm not sure what kind of flower this is but it was growing in the tropics and was absolutely gorgeous. Sissy wanted one, it's pink, 'nuff said!
Finally, out for a walk before another dusting of snow. Winter, I love you but you really need to GO!

Daddy helping Sissy do a rubbing in the Tropics building, aren't their hands beautiful together. I love how big his hands are and how gentle he is capable of being.
These Squirrel Monkeys(I think?) were so excited to see people, they kept jumping at the glass and interacting with Chris and the kids. Aren't the hands on this animal cool, they look like miniature human hands.
