Gratitude Challenge: Day 8

 On this, day 8, of the gratitude challenge hosted by Brenda over at Garden of Learning, I am grateful for my childrens' grandparents.

My Mom and Dad are great parents and equally awesome grandparents.  They make time to spend with my kids, they go out of their way to make each child feel special and important and they simply shower them with love, affection and empowering discipline. 



Several years ago, my parents moved out to the edge of town, onto several acres.  Within a few years they put in a swimming pool, which of course the grandkids use more than anyone.  We often get together to put the kids to work hauling limbs and then we have a big bonfire and roast marshmallows.

This is one of my favorite pics of my mom and daughter, they are heading off to pick up sticks to throw on the fire.

The next two pics are of my husbands parents, while not quite as involved as my parents, it's more a matter of I work with my family so we are constantly in contact.  Chris's parents are awesome, they love their grandkids and strive to spend valuable time with them.

This is a picture of a trip to Branson.  We had such a great time,  Sissy was only a few months old , So Janet was a great help and enabled us all to have an awesome Christmas vacation.

 This is a pic of Chris's dad Joe.  He is such a soft touch, he'll do just about anything for his grandkids.  This is taken at Deanna Rose, a free farmstead in our area, that has playgrounds, animals and historical buildings.  Sissy and Ry had such a great time, fishing with grandpa in the catch and release pond.

 This is my grandpa, the kids greatpa, it is so awesome for my kids to have some of the great-grandparents available to guide them.  We went on a fishing trip last summer with greatpa, the older boys had such an awesome time, they will have those memories forever.

This last pic is of Chris grandparents.  They moved away a quite a few years ago, so we don't see them as often as we like, but we definitely keep in touch and my kids value their Gamma and Grampa Blueberry, as they call them.  We made a trip a couple of summers ago and spent some time with them and they come up a couple of times a year.  We love and miss them.

Thank you God, for the people you have surrounded my kids with.  We are grateful for each of these people and how they impact my babies and the adults they will become someday.  Head on over here to see what others are grateful for today.
