Gratitude Challenge: Day 3 (lots of pics)

A little over 5 years ago the Dr. told me that my 4th child was going to be a girl.  Shocked can not even begin to describe the feelings that I had at that moment, after 3 boys, we had assumed that of course this one would be a boy as well.  It took a little while, but then the excitement set in, a girl to break up the sea of testosterone that I lived in, absolutely awesome!!  I never could have foreseen the child God had planned for us.  She is gorgeous, funny, mean, compassionate, sweet and dirty.  I know, crazy description, but having 3 older brothers has really defined her.

She was the first of my 4 kids to break a bone, she broke her arm at 2 and sported a cast for 6 weeks.  She loves to play in the dirt with her brothers, but usually she's wearing a princess dress while doing it.  She loves to argue and fight, is usually more vicious than you could ever imagine.  She plays with dolls, does Taekwondo, sings, dances and rolls in the dirt.  I love every second of being her mom!
She is a lot like her daddy, she is funny and compassionate, laid back and easy going.  She is a lot like her mom, she is smart and a lil' bit manipulative, she has a temper that scares her brothers.
We are just so grateful to God, for giving us the gift that is our daughter, Tanyn.  He knew what he was doing when He sent her to us, she has systematically whipped us into shape.

Thank You God, for this little girl.  We are so grateful!!

I tried to pick the pics that would best illustrate the gift that Tanyn is.  I hope you enjoy them, please take careful notice of the freckles in the last pic, they are why she gets whatever she wants.  Who could resist?

Head on over to Garden of Learning to see what others are grateful for this beautiful day!  Thanks for stopping by.

What a cutie! I, too, am a mother to a dirt covered, princess dress wearing girl. She's a teenager now so the description has changed a little, but I will always cherish the memories of her covered in mud with a tiara on her head.

Love that last photo. Those freckles and those eyes. Looks so innocent but the eyes give her away :) Great photos and tribute to your daughter. Thanks for sharing her with us.

She's adorable! And I can see why those freckles would get you every time. :) I'm still in my sea of testosterone, which is fine by me . . . I'd love a couple more boys and have no idea how I'd handle a little girl!

What a beautiful girl. I am the lone female in my house, so I love to see little girls. Especially ones like your little handful. I was just like her. =)

Beautiful! A dear friend also had 3 boys and then her girl, and it is interesting comparing the differences in my opposite family- 2 girls and then one boy. They are all blessings. :)
