Weekly Wrap-up!

We had a great week, I hope y'all did as well. Our week started Sunday with a work picnic. My husband is an independent contractor who has been contracted out to this business for a few months, he actually has an interview on Tuesday to become a full-time employee with them. If he were to get it, it would be the first time in 14 years that he would have a job with benefits. While it would actually be a bit of a pay cut, I think we could sacrifice for the security of benefits and a stable company. So anyway we're praying for him to get this job, but we'll understand if it's not in the plans right now; we're pretty flexible. Anywho, they invited him to the picnic and our family had a great time.

These stepping stones were a great hit with our family, of course my kids were the first to slip and fall in; luckily the water wasn't very deep.

The boys found these snails all over the bottom of the pond, they turned out to be Japanese trap-door snails that are commonly put in ponds to eat the algae and clean the water. The guys thought they were pretty cool, Hunter felt bad because he didn't realize what the trap door was and pulled on one and killed the animal.
The park was circled with bridges and stepping stones, game areas and playgrounds, it was truly a great park. Ry and Sissy especially enjoyed the playground.

Dakota has been working pretty diligently on his science notebook. He's doing it along with Zoology 3 and really enjoying it.

We are all struggling through Algebra together, I'm re-learning as I teach. Not always fun but we're slogging through it.

Wednesday and Thursday the boys all had Taekwondo promotions. I chose not to let Sissy promote as she has been a little uninspiring in class. She mostly turns circles and falls over, oh well; she's only four ya know. Ry promoted to Hi Green and Hunter and Koty promoted to First Red, they all did great and really impressed their teachers. After promotion we wandered over to my brother's 40th b-day party, I'm still in shock that we are as old as we are. LOL

Today we went on a field trip with our homeschooling group, not exactly terribly educational but fun. The Kansas Speedway was pretty awesome, we got to go to the owner's suite, Victory Lane and the garages. It was strange, I had never seen so many Dad's at a field trip before, LOL.

Unfortunately, Rylan was getting sick this morning and by the end of the trip he was a cranky beast. So I've had to spend the afternoon with a very irritated boy. Hopefully, what ever is wrong with him stays with him and doesn't spread.Join us over at Weird, Unsocialized Homeschoolers to see how other folks spent their week.

Sending prayers for your husband's job! I hope it turns out well for you all.

I miss TaeKwonDo. Fox took that when we lived in Leesburg, VA. He LOVED it. We just haven't been able to find an instructor here in PA who compares to Master Jo.

LOL at so many dads on the field trip. I can believe that one.

I miss Tae Kwan Do. I took it when I was 11 or so and was actually pretty good. I'd love to do it as a family. It's great exercise.

The park looks like lots of fun for everyone! Glad the water wasn't deep, but falling in was probably the best part for the wee ones!
