It's over!

We served our last customers in the restaurant that we've been in for 15 years, we are moving and will be reopening in the fall. In the meantime I have to work at the other restaurant we own, I hope all my favorite customers come and see me!!!!

I love so many of our customers, it's really bittersweet that we're moving on, luckily we have very loyal friends(customers), so I'm sure we'll see them all in a few months.

I'm back!

It has been so long since I posted, I've kind of lost track of where I was on everything.  My mom had an accident on Easter Sunday after we had just finished serving our Easter Brunch.  We were all tired after serving over 250 customers and she fell down the bottom half of a long set of wooden stairs.

I learned that she is truly one of the strongest women I have ever met, she got up off that floor, went home and celebrated Easter with her family; then she let me take her to the E.R.  At the E.R. I learned she's a real pansy when it comes to needles and IV's and she has absolutely no tolerance for drugs of any kind.  She is probably the cheapest date in town, one shot of Benadryl and she was just silly!  We learned that she hadn't broken her ankle or ribs like we thought, but she had suffered a compression fracture of her T10 vertebra.  She couldn't get into the neurosurgeon until today to find out what they can do to relieve the pain, so for the last two weeks she has been drugged or in debilitating pain.  I have been working nearly non-stop the last two weeks, logging into overtime hours; let's just say that everything else fell to the wayside.  If Easter was busy, Mother's day was just stupid!!  It took a lot of work and planning to do Mother's Day with Mom drugged and in pain, once again; pure stubbornness carried her through the day.  Everyone stepped up and stepped in, even her grandsons worked extra hard.  I love my family, we are a team!

I'm just gonna post some of the pictures I've taken over the last two weeks.  I've never had my camera far, but I was so busy that I don't think I got one every day.  I'm just gonna pick up where I left off after this.

These trees are all over the zoo.  Locust, maybe?  They always make me think of a crown of thorns.

Yes, if your following along, I am skipping some days. I would like to say that I got out and shot some pics, but honestly I didn't touch my camera all weekend. I'm a waitress in my family's restaurant and sometimes when push comes to shove, I work a lot, more than you think; A LOT! This was on of those weekends, I left my home in the morning and came home in the late evening. "Did it payoff?," you ask.

I made enough to order almost half of Koty's curriculum for the Fall,  it feels so wonderful when hard work pays off!

Since I basically didn't see my kids all weekend, we took a day and spent it together.  We went to lunch with my parents and then wondered around Costco for awhile, nothing too exciting.  Ry and Sissy had to have some frozen yogurt and I had to have a pic for the day!

The older boys weren't being quite as adorable, so I didn't bother them with pics.  They never really like when I take pics of them anyway.

I don't know what it says about us, but a customer gave us this plaque to hang in the restaurant.  It cracks me up every time I read it. Luckily, they're really good customers; they just caught on to us really quick! LOL!

Gratitude Challenge: Day 5

I'm a little late, but I didn't want to miss a day of Gratitude.  Today, I am thankful that I have the gift of a job in this downturned economy.  I work for my family waiting tables at one of our restaurants, I am so very grateful for the customers who have consistently come and make it possible to do what we love.

What a week!!!!

We have had such a busy week. The boys have been in karate camp all week, so I have been running back and forth playing chauffeur and dealing with a Sissy that does not understand why her brothers are leaving her. Thursday night we left Karate and went up to Maxwell's which was hosting an Autism Awareness fundraiser, one of my cousins has a young son on the spectrum. Mom wanted me to take some photos for our restaurant website, these are some of the fun ones.Tanyn loved this particular clown, "A princess clown, Mom," she said. It was too cute. The gentleman clown's "brief case" was just too funny for words.



Friday was my baby sister's 33rd birthday, so we all got together after the restaurant's closed to celebrate. Basically, I sit back and watch everyone else drink. I don't particularly have anything against alcohol, I just don't care for the taste of any of it. So I had Diet Coke on the rocks and keep 'em coming. Happy Birthday, Baby Girl!!!!


We'll be celebrating Father's Day on Monday, everyone has to work, it's no fun trying to fit in a celebration so we always try to push it to another day. It works for us!!!
